Dr Lam Q Tran
BDSc(QLD) MClinDent(Implant Dent)
Dr Tran graduated from UQ Dental School in 1997. He has worked in several areas of Brisbane, including Gympie Dental Hospital and CBD Dental Hospital. He also acted as the Senior Dentist in charge at Redcliffe Hospital, in which he practiced sedation and general dentistry on patients.
In the past years, he has gained much experience and knowledge through private practice exposure. Dr Tran has a special interest in all cosmetic dentistry, family dentistry, crown and bridge, root canal treatment and gum treatment. As well as general dentistry qualifications, Dr Tran has undertaken many continuing education programs over the years and annually attends the Dental profession’s seminars with his colleagues.
Dr David Roebuck
BDSc (University of Queensland)
Dr Roebuck graduated from UQ Dental School in 2003. He has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry, crown and bridge, RCT and analyzing causes of decay and has worked in several areas of Queensland.
Dr Roebuck practices punctual appointments for the patient’s comfort and convenience.
Dr Roebuck has also undertaken continuing education training and programs.
Dr Jacob Song
BDSc – University of Queensland
Jacob grew up in Sydney and has lived in Queensland for over 10 years where he received his Graduate Diploma of Dentistry from Griffith University. Since then, he has gained experience from various positions in public, private and corporate clinics in Brisbane and Sunshine Coast. He has also volunteered in dentistry as well as other causes such as the Starlight Foundation.
Jacob aims to work together with clients when providing them with dental treatment. He will attempt to help in the stabilization and prevention of dental problems as well as forward planning with the client to keep you informed and able to make effective decisions around dental issues.
Dr Shianne Carmichael
BDSc (University of Queensland)
Shianne is a 2012 graduate of the University of Queensland. She began her dental career in Townsville where she worked for both the private and public sectors. After spending six years working in remote and regional Queensland, she returned to Brisbane and has joined Forest Lake Dental.
Shianne is well known for her gentle touch and calming presence at the practice. Preventive and conservative dentistry have been a major focus of her career. She remains active in pursuit of continuing education through her membership with the Australian Dental Association.
Dr Nina Ong
Bachelor of Oral Health DSc, MDSc (Griffith University)
Dr Nina Ong graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and Master of Dentistry. She was awarded the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence for each year of her dental studies as well as the A-Dec Award for Excellence in Simulation Laboratory.
Nina has been working in the dental industry for over 15 years, working in all aspects of the dental field until becoming a dentist herself. Although born and bred in Brisbane, Nina has also lived in Far North Queensland where she worked for government clinics and school dental vans. Nina enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with particular interests in paediatric dentistry and endodontics. She has a gentle approach to dentistry and holds the belief and expectation of delivering the best quality work for her patients.
Nina is of Vietnamese heritage and can speak fluently in both Vietnamese and English. Perhaps the only thing that comes close to her passion for dentistry is her love for cooking, particularly creating traditional Vietnamese dishes for her young family. Her toddler son enjoys helping her cook and of course eating all the authentic Vietnamese dishes she makes.
Dr Laura Barbagallo
Visiting Orthodontist

Dr Laura Barbagallo is our visiting Orthodontist, bringing to Forest Lake Dental credentials of the highest standard. Dr Barbagallo completed her Bachelor of Dental Science Degree with First Class Honours at the University of Queensland. She then spent several years of general dental practice in the Royal Australian Air Force and in private practice in England.
Laura completed her Masters of Dental Science Degree in Orthodontics with Honours at the University of Sydney. She has also become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, in Orthodontics.
In April 2006 Dr Barbagallo was awarded the Elsdon Storey First Research Prize from the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO) for the best research thesis of all the 2005 orthodontic graduates throughout Australia. In March 2008 Laura won the Milton R Sims Award from the ASO. This award is bestowed on the most meritorious student in Australia who has completed an Orthodontic Masters programme from 2005 to 2007. The decision was based upon Laura’s outstanding clinical ability, university achievements and published university research. Laura’s research has been published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Feb 2008 and the Annals of Biomedical Engineering, Dec 2007.
